Used to go go to Mario's decades ago as far back as their Main Street location. Went to the new location several times but haven't been to Mario's for over ten years. I moved a little farther south and just forgot about it. Came across it on Google and had to go. Wasn't disappointed one bit. The food was still fabulous and the prices can't be beat. Large portions also. We be going back again

This is "our place" My wife and I celebrate our wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve and this is where we go for dinner nearly every year for our anniversary. The one year we did not go we went to a popular restaurant in Sturbridge and we just felt like we were not where we were supposed to be. Food is authentic, atmosphere and service excellent. Mario and staff treat us like gold! Nice little treasure in the heart of Southbridge!

We have never gone wrong by eating here, or now picking it up and bringing it home! I try to eat something different each time and I have not been disappointed.

The restaurant is charming as it has an olde timely classic America feel. We enjoyed the fried calamari appetizer and our entrees were good sized and tasty. Timing between courses could have been more evenly paced but everything was delicious and hot.

Reminds me of my dad's restaurant...small, cozy & fantastic, Italian food. Love seeing, Mario still there in his 80s, emotional in a good way every time we eat there.

True authentic Italian food, to me a perfect experience! I was transported back to my Grandmother's kitchen. The proprietor is a genuine gentleman with more than 50 years of experience and it shows.

The price I paid for the amount of food I got was not ok place was nice and waitress was friendly enough but the food had no flavor not what I expected from a Italian restaurant I’m sorry just being honest I don’t see me repeating

Was looking for Italian restaurant after shopping nearby. The goggle listed Mario's 4.5 stars so we went hoping we could get a table. Glad we did. Had an old world charm missing in pub style restaurants. Clean, quiet with attentive staff. Wife ordered chicken parmesan. I ordered seafood fra diavolo. We didn't have to wait long. Food was excellent. We will be going back.

I got the gnochi with Meatballs.... The gnochi was nice and tender and the meatballs were cooked to perfection (moist, soft, and just fell apart when I cut into them with my fork). ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! And the canoli? ... Forget about it! Seriously good! Kelly is super sweet and attentive. Really MUST NOT miss coming here! I'll definitely be coming back again.

I'm not a big fan of Italian but I guess eating Italian in the south really doesn't help. The chicken marsala and chicken samboca were delicious! Seafood diavalo was ok. Service was great with cozy setting. Definitely no frills but who cares in this setting? Clean bathroom. Quiet neighborhood setting. Coming from everywhere else in the US except the Northeast, I finally tasted real Italian!Really recommend this place!

Great little place in Southbridge, with delicious food, the veal is pounded nice and tender pan fried, chicken parm great, specials are very well made have to be honest the lasagna was dry and i did not care for the meatballs but love everything else, reasonably priced, wait staff is great Mario is the man! Definitely recommend. I thought i saw Dean Martin in there but definitely heard Frank Sinatra!!
